On a weekly basis, children are expected to:

• Read to an adult 5 times each week for a minimum of 10 minutes. This should be recorded in the child's Reading Record. By Year 6, we would expect children to be reading a wide variety of texts.

Over the course of the year, children will also be asked to complete three Whole School Topic homework. Further details on these pieces of homework will be sent out by the class teacher via homework diaries or class Dojo.

Whole School Topic homework will take place during the terms below:

- Autumn 2 - Talking Homework.

- Summer 1 - Creative project

- Summer 2 - Aspirations Award

Children may also be given additional subject specific homework.

Please note that there will be no weekly spelling test.

Through SPaG sessions, Year 6 will be taught the Y5/6 spellings. In place of a weekly spelling test - with aim of exposing the children to a wider vocabulary - 6D will instead be learning a ‘Word of the Week’. The Year 5/6 Spellings can be found below if you wish to do additional learning at home.
