Compulsory homework tasks:

Key Stage 1 (Year 1 and 2)

• Reading – KS1 children at Ashbourne Primary School should read 5 x a week at home with their parents. This should be recorded in the child’s reading record
• Spellings – The government have set words that the children must learn in each year group. In 1S, these will be sent home and tested weekly, on a Friday morning 
• Phonics – Sent home to pupils who need further practice
• Handwriting – Handwriting and letter formation will be sent to pupils who need further practice
