Compulsory Homework Tasks

Key Stage 1 (Year 1 and 2)

• Reading – Children at Ashbourne Primary School should read 5 x a week at home with their parents and this should be recorded in the child’s reading record.
• Spellings – The government have set words that the children must learn in each year group. There are two groups of spellings which will be sent home at the start of each half-term and will be tested weekly on a Friday.
• Phonics – Sent home to pupils who need further practice.
• Handwriting – Handwriting and letter formation will be sent to pupils who need further practice.
