Ashbourne Primary School

Sports Provision

At Ashbourne Primary School, we are proud of our high-quality PE and sport provision, which plays a central role in school life. We offer a wide range of sporting opportunities before school, during curriculum time and after school, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to participate, compete and succeed.

Our programme includes curriculum PE, festivals, competitions, clubs, inclusive sports opportunities and pathways for talented pupils. We believe that sport should be ambitious, enjoyable and inclusive, supporting children’s physical health, confidence, wellbeing and personal development.

We place a strong emphasis on effort, encouraging all pupils to try their best, keep going and challenge themselves, whether they are taking part in competition or developing their own skills.

We ensure that all pupils leave Ashbourne Primary School physically confident, motivated and engaged in sport and physical activity.
