Ashbourne Nursery

      

In September 2023, Ashbourne Primary School opened our school nursery, providing a high-quality early years experience for children at the very start of their learning journey.

Our friendly and well-equipped nursery, including a secure outdoor area, offers a stimulating, nurturing and engaging environment where children can learn, explore and grow.

Our teacher-led provision, supported by a highly skilled and experienced team, ensures that children benefit from carefully planned, exciting learning opportunities that help them to make the best possible start to their education.

Starting Nursery

Children can join our nursery from the term after they turn three (September, January or April intakes).

Session Times

We offer flexible sessions to meet the needs of families:

  • Morning session: 8:45am – 11:45am (3 hours)
  • Afternoon session: 12:15pm – 3:15pm (3 hours)
  • Full day: 8:45am – 3:15pm (6.5 hours)

Funding and Costs

We offer both 15-hour and 30-hour funded places.

Additional costs are:

  • £6 per additional hour above funded sessions (full-time places are 32.5 hours)
  • £14 per full session (3 hours)
  • School lunch: £3 (or children may bring a packed lunch)

Wraparound Care

We provide wraparound care to support working families:

  • Morning Club (7:30am – 8:45am, including breakfast): £5
  • After School Club until 4:30pm: £8
  • After School Club until 5:45pm (including snack): £10

Uniform

Nursery children wear our school uniform, helping them to feel part of the school community from the very start.

This includes:

  • Navy blue jumper or cardigan
  • Black or dark grey skirt, trousers or shorts
  • White shirt or polo shirt
  • Optional summer dress (navy and white check)

On PE days, children will also need a PE kit.
