School Sport Organising Crew (SSOC)

At Ashbourne Primary, pupils in Year 5 and 6 are given the opportunity to become part of the School Sport Organising Crew (SSOC). Once a child has volunteered, they receive a full afternoon of training led by our P.E. Co-ordinator. 

What is the SSOC responsible for?

The duties of the School Sport Organising Crew include:

• Working with teachers and fellow pupils to organise intra-school competitions and school sport opportunities
• Planning, organising and leading active games at breaktimes for pupils in Year 1 through to Year 6

The SSOC use their voice and skills to organise, promote and motivate fellow students to get involved in PE and school sport and be physically active. As well as improving the School Games these tasks will also help to develop important life and employability skills for the students involved.
