On a weekly basis, children are expected to:

• Reading – Children at Ashbourne Primary School should read 5 x a week for 10 minutes at home with their parents and this should be recorded in the child’s reading record. Reading records will be checked every Monday.
   
• Times Tables – Year 5 children should practise times tables at home via Times Tables Rockstars each week. It is recommended that for Times Table Rockstars to have an impact, it should be used for at least 10 minutes per week. You can find your username and password inside your reading record. 
   
• Optional Magma Maths – In Year 5, children have the opportunity to complete optional maths homework using Magma Maths, an interactive online learning platform.

  Activities are designed to revisit and consolidate maths concepts already taught in class, helping children strengthen their understanding, build confidence and develop fluency in key mathematical skills.

  Homework is completely optional, and children can complete as much or as little as they wish. However, we encourage regular engagement where possible to support their learning and reinforce classroom teaching.

  Children can access Magma Maths using the free app, with their personal login QR code located in the front of their reading record.
