At Ashbourne Primary School, we are supporting Safer Internet Day 2024 on Wednesday 6th February 2024.
Safer Internet Day takes place in February of each year to raise awareness of a safer and better internet for all, and especially for children and young people.
As part of this annual celebration, everyone - including children and young people, parents and caregivers, teachers and educators, policymakers, industry and others are encouraged to join "together for a better internet".

Our Online Safety curriculum is taught in Autumn 2 as part of our whole-school Communication topic.
On Safer Internet Day, we will be having a whole-school assembly to discuss online safety. This will then be followed up in classrooms. We will then set the children a SID task to complete at home with family members/family friends. This is an opportunity for children to discuss with adults their understanding of eSafety, as well as the positives and negatives of a rapidly changing technological world.
