Reading: Today is National Empathy Day. Empathy is all about understanding how others feel. Reading is a great way to put yourself in someone else’s shoes. - Wendy Meddour reads Lubna and Pebble, a picture book with an unforgettable story that subtly addresses the refugee crisis
- Author Cori Doerrfeld reads her picture book The Rabbit Listened, a moving and universal picture book about empathy and kindness.
- Author and illustrator Tom Percival read his picture book Ravi’s Roar. A clever and engaging book about temper tantrums, dealing with emotions and learning to express and understand your feelings.
Maths: Today you must do the work assigned to your year group as year 4s will do some of this next year and we want to avoid repetition. Please message Mrs Oldrini or Mr Clark if you need any further help.

Creative: Think back to the different layers of a rainforest you learnt about yesterday. Your activity today is to decide which animals you would find in different parts of a rainforest. Cut out the different animals below and stick them in the correct layer on the ‘anchor chart’.
If you don’t have access to a printer, you can draw your own rainforest with the different layers and then draw the animals where you think you would find them.
