Our students have done us proud by sporting the school colours in competitions and festivals this year.
Year 1 and 2 got involved in a Gymnastics Fetival hosted by QEGS. Even Mr. Peach got involved in the hula-hooping!

Miss Durose showed the girls that ‘This Girl Can’ at the Rural Derbyshire This Girl Can workshop in Matlock. Many runners competed in the QEGS Cluster Cross Country Races back in October 2019. Ollie and Bella were runaway individual winners in their respective races.

These girls enjoyed their time exploring their Gymnastics skills.

Year 5 and 6 competed against local schools in a Sports Hall Athletics competition. Action from the QEGS Cluster football tournament. Bella and Charlotte are on the attack against Wirksworth Juniors in the Rural Derbyshire Girls Football Tournament. Wirksworth were overall winners with Ashbourne finishing an agonising 3rd on goal difference. This healthy squad are learning all about health and activity at a Change 4 Life conference at Ashbourne Leisure Centre. The standard was high at the Derbyshire School Games Football Championships in November. The team exited early but valuable lessons were learned in defeat and the teams spirits were not dampened for long. Up close and excitable during Sport Relief.
Year 3 and 4 gave their all trying to improve their Personal Bests in a variety of indoor athletics events.
