The School Play – July 2019

The year 6 girls had a fantastic time at JCB Academy for ‘girls into engineering’









Quad Kid winners!

Our fantastic athletes won the Derbyshire School Games Quad Kids Athletics for the first time ever!









Anti-Smoking Workshop

Our y6 children took part in an anti-smoking workshop led by Derbyshire NHS.















Mini Leaders

These children have taken part in the mini leaders training. They have given up their time and learned some new skills.

Two of our pupils had the opportunity to present the weather on Ashbourne radio!











80s week – 8th July

This week we went back to the 1980s! We challenged ourselves to a ‘tech free’ week – no ipads, play stations, mobile phones! WE enjoyed learning about the toys, inventions and fashion.

RE visits

All of the children in school have been to visit a place of worship this term. Year 6 visited the Gurdwara as part of their learning about Sikhism. Year visited the Mosque in Derby and Year 3 and 4 have been visiting local churches in Ashbourne. Year  1 and 2 visited the Synagogue in Nottingham.

British Heart Foundation swim

Lots of our children and Miss Durose took part in the British Heart Foundation swim and in total raised £3587! This was the highest amount raised by any school! We were presented with a plaque and the three pupils who raised the highest amounts received certificates.












Rock steady music

We have been learning to play musical instruments and playing in a band!

Our lovely ladies in the kitchen have been raising money for a defribillator for our school. Cllr Simon Spencer donated £200 and came to visit us too.
